WREN

About WREN

Wren needs a forever home! She is currently in Blackfoot. We are still learning about this 2-year-old, underweight (36-lb) Border Collie pup we named Wren, but we already know that she is a happy dog and loves everyone that she meets. She is under socialized, but the foster home is exposing her to many new things. Wren appears to be dog-friendly after proper introduction, but she is timid with other dogs in the home. Wren is not good with cats or small animals. Wren is smart to the point that she can appear to be stubborn. She knows ‘sit’, but won’t follow your command if she doesn’t want to! When she is outside, she jumps at windows to try and get to the cats and it is difficult to get her attention. Wren is crate-trained, and is working on house training. She is respectful of short fences/baby gates. She was a little scared for her first bath. Wren loves kids and she’s very tolerant and gentle of being handled. Wren is going to need somebody who can spend time teaching her new things and loving her. I don’t think she’s ever lived in a home. She doesn’t act like she’s used to being a pet; it’s really sad because she’s a very sweet dog Wren needs a job to do, but she’s difficult to teach. She is not food-motivated. She likely needs more activity so that she gets hungry and eats. Wren has been accepted into a board-n-train program at the end of June to work on perfecting all desirable behaviors. Trainer will work with her new family to ease the transition. Complete an easy, online adoption application to meet Wren in Blackfoot, ID. Wren was saved from an overcrowded shelter in Castle Dale, UT at the end of April. Her fur was in poor condition so it was obvious that she had been living on her own for a while.
