Madonna

Madonna is a puppy mill survivor and possibly has flight risk. She is a Maltese, about 5 years old and 8lbs. She is UTD on vaccinations, has dental and spay scheduled for 7/21 at BVSPCA. Keeping this appointment is a condition of adoption. Housebroken: Work in progress. She is doing very well, if … outings are done on a routine basis. She sleeps in the crate overnight without any accidents. Crate trained: Yes. Sometimes barks but for the most part is very good. Good in the car: Yes. Good on a leash: Getting better every day. She’s beginning to actually enjoy it now and wants to walk further. At first she just walked in circles, now she’s walking straight and beginning to be interested in her surroundings. Energy level: very low. Need a fenced in yard: Yes. Dog Friendly: Yes. But basically was not interested. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No. Cat Friendly? Yes, again totally uninterested. Kid Friendly: Has not been around children in foster, but she is so calm, I’m sure she’d be fine. If yes, what’s the youngest child you’d recommend they be placed with? 8+. Unless you are supervising the interaction. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Madonna comes from a puppy mill and is very detached of almost everything. She seems to enjoy her rubs and will lie next to you for hours. She is so relaxed when she is held. She is such a sweet, little girl. Madonna would be perfect a perfect companion for someone who is home most of the day. She will definitely be a low maintenance bundle of love.
