About Sitka — Courtesy Post

Sweet senior Sitka is looking for a new home where she will be loved and can be herself. We (FFOCAS) are helping Sitka’s family find her forever home. Sitka is friendly with every human she meets. She is not snuggly, but does enjoy petting and interaction. She is very smart and trainable, yet has that quirky husky sense of humor. She was raised with young kids and has done very well with children. When our volunteer met her, Sitka was immediately happy to see her and ready to interact. No stranger danger here! This beauty is looking for a home as an only dog. She has lived with other dogs, but over time has determined that she would rather not share her home with them. This is why she is losing her home. She also can be reactive toward other dogs on leash. But if you don’t want to work with her on that, no worries! She’d likely be happiest with a nice fenced yard anyway so you can skip the walks. Sitka will chase cats as well as other small critters outside. Inside, she has lived with cats and though she has never hurt them, she does chase them sometimes and, because this would be stressful to most cats, we recommend a home without cats. Sitka is about 9 years old, 55 lbs, and has no known health issues. She is spayed and will be brought up to date on vaccinations and have a thorough exam prior to adoption. She is house trained and crate trained but is hoping for a home where she won’t need to be crated much or at all. Interested? Please email us at [email protected]. We have a rehoming application and screening process that will feel similar to that of a rescue.
