Scotch

The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application. This sweet boy is Scotch. He is a 3-5-year-old Chihuahua mix. He came to us when his owner went to a nursing home. Scotch was in pretty rough shape when he came into our care but our dedicated medical team and foster family have … worked hard to get this little guy into the best shape he can be. Scotch loves to be on your lap with a blanket and as most chihuahuas is not fond of the cold weather. He is shy until he warms up to you and then it is all loves, his tail is always wagging. He does well with both dogs and cats, but would also love to be the only one! He would love someone that is home a lot but would be super excited to greet you when you come home too if you happen to have one of those pesky jobs that takes you away from him. He does have an autoimmune disorder called pemphigus. This is a condition that is somewhat like an allergy and affects the skin. He now takes Atopica for the condition and is doing great on the medication. He has no problem taking his meds which is a plus! He is up to date on vaccinations micro-chipped and is neutered. We are still working on the potty training but again he just isn’t liking this cold Iowa weather. He is a very sweet boy with lots of love to give and he so deserves to receive lots of love back.
