Sammy finds himself at the shelter after his owner passed away. This handsome boy is looking for the right fit for his personality. This 7-year-old fella is not just another cute face – Sammy needs a quiet, adult home and an owner who is savvy with dog behavior. Sammy was protective of his owner in … his previous home; he needs someone who can be a confident leader. Someone who will take the time to let Sammy acclimate and build trust at Sammy’s pace. Sammy is not a dog who wants to go out and be social with strangers. (I’m sure many of you can relate… I don’t want to do that, either!) He will not do well in a busy setting or with people who want to make him be someone he’s not. He lived in an apartment building previously and did not do well with it. Earn Sammy’s trust and love and you will have a beautiful relationship. Sammy needs an adult home without any other dogs. He has never lived with cats. Sammy does well with housetraining and likes his short walks. He needs people who understand his needs and who will show Sammy with quiet confidence that he doesn’t need to protect them.
