Papa, a resilient and deserving dog who has been through a lot. Papa and his sister Mama were abandoned at a shelter, but unfortunately, only Mama found her forever home, leaving Papa behind without anyone checking on his well-being. After eight long months of waiting with no interest, Papa was put … on the euthanasia list. Despite a massive social media effort and countless shares, no rescue organization stepped up to save him. It was a small rescue with limited resources that managed to secure an extension and pull Papa from the shelter. During his time at the shelter, Papa had no social training and experienced immense stress. The lack of exercise led to weight gain, and he carried the weight of trauma on his shoulders. Recognizing the need for professional help, he was sent to an organization with a comprehensive training program (board and train). They have done an excellent job working with him, and now his training is complete. However, Papa is still waiting for a home where he can readjust to a house life and find his forever family. Despite not getting along with other dogs, Papa is a wonderful and sweet dog who deserves a good life. It’s clear that his one true love was his sister Mama, and since her departure, he has had a broken heart. Let’s come together and help mend it. We are urgently seeking a home for Papa anywhere in California or Oregon. Please, let’s join forces and help Papa find the loving forever home he deserves.
