Pancake

About Pancake

Pancake is 59 lb Irish terrier mix. She is very affectionate and will lay her head on your lap or army crawl towards you for attention. She loves belly rubs and prefers snuggles and playing in the morning before breakfast. Pancake is fine sleeping in her crate at night and staying in it during the day for a few hours. She is active in the morning and will be sleepy by 9pm. She does like to relocate shoes to her dog bed and will find anything (clothes, pillows, blankets, toys) to lay on other than the floor. Pancake will get on the couch only if invited. She will chew when bored and loves chewing on dog bones. She loves toys and will sometimes play by herself tossing a toy in the air. Pancake will fetch with squeaky balls and return them to your general area rather than dropping in your hand. She is obsessed with the water hose. Pancake plays rough when overly excited especially with the water hose. She knows when to be playful and when to be calm. She loves car rides and calmly lays in the car during the ride. When she lays down, her favorite position is with her legs out llike drumsticks/froggy legs. She is house trained when kept on a schedule and will climb on you to kiss you when needing to potty. Pancake doesn’t bark when people are at the door (delivery/lawn service). She does get fearful and may bark when strangers come in. She is not dog-aggressive. Slow introductions are needed because she will play if the dogs are friendly. She has buried bones in the backyard and will guard them by a warning snap. So, we just give her bones indoors. She does not guard when eating her dog food. Pancake knows how to sit, lay down, wait at the door, and has good recall when indoors. She will jump when excited (mostly about treats) and can easily be corrected with a “no jump”. She pulls on a leash for the first 5 minutes and will then sniff everything. She trains easily because she is very motivated with treats and is quite smart. Her adoption fee is $600 USD and that will pay for her transport, all her shots up to date, neutered/spayed, microchip, rabies, and health certificate. Please e-mail us for an adoption application or more information at [email protected]. Out-of-town pets are cared for by non-local organizations who can make arrangements for the pet to be transported to your area.
