About Osoona

“Hi! My name is Osoona. I’m a young, lab/shepherd mix looking for my new forever home. How I found myself in search of a new home is through no fault of my own. I was left that the vet to be euthanized because the owner couldn’t afford heartworm treatment. At such a young age and with so much potential, the vet reached out to rescues for help, and SOCA answered the call! I have a beautiful black coat with ombre highlights that you must see in person! I’m eager to please, and just want to be loved. I’m in a house with 2 other dogs (one large and one small/medium sized), and we all get along well together. When I’m not playing with my foster siblings or with toys (I love foraging toys!), I’m following my foster mom around to see what she is doing. I’ve learned the commands ‘sit’ and ‘come here’. I’m also potty trained and crate trained. I am doing very well with leash training too! Overall I’m gentle, but I try to be a lap dog and get a little excited when my human joins me playing with toys. It’s all puppy play! I like to play fetch with a tennis ball, and I’m learning release command and impulse control when playing fetch. My foster mom thinks I may do better with children slightly older children (5+years). I might heartworm positive, but I don’t let that damper my spirits one bit! I am about to start going through treatment, and will temporarily need to be on crate rest while I kick these things to the curb so I can move on with living my best life.”
