MI/Benji

Benji is a handsome, loveable Brittany mix being fostered in Michigan. He came to NBRAN as an owner surrender after living as an outside dog. Benji is a young guy, estimated to be around 1.5 years old and weighs around 50 lbs. He is smart and curious with a great temperament. His favorite … activities include entertaining himself with toys from the toybox (especially plush toys he can carry around), exploring the backyard, playing fetch, and crashing hard. Some of Benji’s mannerism and personality make us think he’s got some Golden Retriever in him! He’ll need continued training as he’s still a puppy with a good amount of energy, but he’s quickly learned to sit, shake, wait for his meals and ring the jingle bells on the door to go outside. He’s house trained and learned very quickly with the bell method! He’s great with other dogs but would also do well being an only dog. He likes being in the pack, but mostly loves human attention. While his temperament is well-suited for kids, he might do best in a home with older children as Benji thinks he’s a smaller, nimbler dog than he actually is. Benji is crated at night and while we’re out of the house. He does a vocal protest at first but then settles down. He does great overnight in the crate and wakes up happy. Benji will need a very secure fence. He hasn’t shown himself to be a jumper, but loves to army crawl and can wiggle through surprising spaces. Benji is neutered, micro-chipped, heartworm negative, and UTD on vaccines and preventatives. If you think you’d like to adopt Benji please fill out an application.
