Jake

About Jake

This stunningly handsome pup was born around February 2023 and will reach 90-100 pounds as an adult. Baby Jake has lots of puppy energy, loves people, loves to play, and has big clumsy puppy moves and the cutest trot. He has a couple of characteristics that are not the norm for the breed. For one, he likes water, getting wet, and running around the outside of a swimming pool. He is very curious around water and gets excited when his foster mom gets out the water hose. He might end up being a swimmer or at least a splasher. His other non-Pyr trait is that he rarely barks. His foster mom has heard him only bark a few times while he is playing with other dogs. (His vocalization could increase has he gets older and has more life experiences.) Jake loves to play with his foster canine brothers and sisters. He has been exposed to large and medium-sized dogs, both male and female, and he gets along great with them all. He must have at least one large, playful doggy companion in his forever home. He easily entertains himself with toys. He loves any toy you give him and some you don’t. Currently, his favorites are plastic shopping bags, a leash, and a duster. This delightful boy needs a yard with lots of room to play and run. He needs a family that will engage him in lots of different daily activities such as walking, going to the pet store, and being around new people who will adore him as much as he does them. Jake is working on perfecting his potty training. Foster mom is confident that she will have him fully house trained in the next few weeks. He is working on crate training and his leash walking skills. He rides will in a car; since he’s still a baby, he needs help getting into and out of the vehicle. Our requirements for puppy adoption: 1) Puppies will only be placed in homes with youthful, playful dogs. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor. 2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy. 3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly. 4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention.
