Ivy

About Ivy

“Hi there, my name is Ivy! I was born in early August of this year. I am a beautiful Beagle & Bluetick Coonhound Mix and I’m a lucky girl! You see, I have endured a lot in my few short months of life but luckily, I was able to make it through with just a few battle wounds. I was found as a stray in a small town in Iowa. The people that found me called the police to help because they saw that I was injured. I was taken to a vet and they discovered that I was shot several times with two different types of guns. I’ve been evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon and they say I will make a full recovery with no issues besides some possible arthritis in my left hind leg. I am missing a couple front teeth due to this incident, but this gives me a uniquely beautiful look. The great news is, none of this broke my spirit. Although I can be unsure about new situations, with the love and structure I have experienced in my foster home, I am sure I will work through this. I love to have fun and run around and am mastering some basic training skills. I have been exposed to kiddos and enjoy the company of other dogs. I crave their attention and love being around them! Playing fetch is one of my favorite games. Because I’ve been traveling alone for a while, I tend to use my hound instincts to really listen and watch my surroundings. This helps me to know things are safe for me. I would really like a family of my own so I can give all my love and cuddles away! Since I love to run around so much, my ideal home would have a fenced in yard to keep me safe. I am used to having more time with my foster family than away from them so someone who is home a lot would be lovely! And again, I do love kids! I hope to meet you soon! I am a one of a kind pup and would love to show you how special I really am.” Ivy has been dewormed, micro-chipped, brought up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, kept on monthly preventatives and is scheduled for her spay (may be adopted with a spay agreement). She will benefit from a physically fenced yard so she can run and play safely. Adopters must be within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only.
