Faith

About Faith

This beauty is Faith. She was pulled from a local overcrowded shelter with a very nasty leg wound. We fought so hard with many vet visits and medications… along with lots of TLC from her fosters but sadly she developed a deadly fungal infection and we had to amputate her leg in order to save her life. Faith is 3 days post op and doing well. She’s adjusting wonderfully to have 3 legs and getting around great. Recovery is going well and she will have sutures removed in 10 days. Once they are removed she will be ready for her forever home. We would love for her to have a family lined up when that time comes so we are listing her now. Faith is a gorgeous purebred sable German Shepherd we believe. She is a wonderful girl who doesn’t meet a stranger and loves everyone. She’s great with kids but can get excited and not realize her size sometimes. She’s great with all size dogs and has done wonderful at doggy daycare. She’s currently in a temporary recovery foster who has a senior girl and Faith is great with her as well. Faith is not a fan of a kennel but will go in one if forced too. Thankfully, she’s been wonderful in her foster home and hasn’t needed the kennel since being picked up from surgery and transferred an actual home setting instead of daycare. Faith is young at only 1-2 years and 60 lbs. So she can still be playful and enjoys playing with others but she also is content and happy just chilling in the house and occupying herself. She loves the outdoors and to sniff and sunbathe. She is a people pup and wants to be with you and is very eager to please. She is the perfect companion. Faith is fully vetted, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and the cutest tripod we ever did see. She should be cleared for adoption in 10 days. We are taking applications now and reserving her to the perfect forever family. All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age-appropriate shots (at least 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if at least 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will not be granted on a healthy puppy! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non-refundable $50 deposit. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us. Do not contact Parkway Animal Hospital as they are a vet clinic and cannot answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue. Thank you for your understanding.
