Duchess was found roaming the streets in the hot summer Texas heat. She weighed an emaciated 79 pounds and had calluses and bare skin covering her protruding bones. After a year of excellent nutrition and love, she’s now the most beautiful majestic blue Great Dane we’ve ever seen. If you are … looking for that big, goofy, loveable, affectionate, silly, majestic Dane who thinks she is a lap dog… Duchess is your diva! This attention hound is cuddly and playful. She does well with other dogs but she has energy and doesn’t know she’s 140 pounds. This can be too much for small and old dogs… and small children! We always stress slow and proper introductions to other dogs. Cats are not recommended. Duchess loves toys. If you are up for a game of tug of war, so is she! Fetch? Of course! But as much as this she likes to play, she also likes to be lazy. She loves to be on anything comfy. She loves to spoon if your bed is big enough but she currently sleeps at the foot of the bed on a bench cushion. Oh, she is ready for bed at 8:30 PM! She’ll let you know. Duchess prefers her owners to be home most of the day with her. She doesn’t like to be left alone and while she will go in the kennel, it’s not her favorite place to be. She is very faithful and will follow you all over the house. She is housebroken and leash trained. She gets all the looks when on a walk because she’s absolutely stunning! She’s good with some commands. She will sit before you feed her. She’s a big fan of car rides, squeaky toys, and cuddling. She would be an amazing addition to your family. Duchess is looking for experienced giant dog people and will need an application prior to meeting. Duchess is in Houston Texas but can be transported anywhere for an additional fee beginning at $300.
