Daisy was surrendered to PNW Cattle Dog Rescue in August from a family in Texas. They had gotten her from another family that kept her in a 10′ x 10′ kennel for the first 8 months of her life. With her people, Daisy is sweet, affectionate and eager to please. She needs an adopter who is ready for a … high-drive cattle dog. She is very smart and wants to engage with her people. She’ll start predicting your next action if you’re not paying attention! She’d love to do agility or other dog sports. Around the house she often acts before she thinks so she needs practice with impulse control and basic obedience. Daisy has struggled with the transition to life in the Northwest. She’s reactive to moving vehicles, bikes, skateboards and other animals. We recommend an adoptive home without other animals. In the foster home, Daisy has will to guard or steal food and toys from other dogs if given the opportunity. She’d need quite a bit of management in a multi-dog home till she feels more secure with family and routine. She has gone after cats and chickens in previous living situations, so we don’t recommend an adoptive home with small animals. Given her current level of reactivity and her training needs, we will not place her in a home with small kids. Daisy loves fetch with frisbee or ball. She’s very athletic and LOVES playing in water! She loves trail running with her foster dad. She likes dog toys and will happily entertain herself if there’s nothing else to do. She’s content napping on couch when things are mellow around the house. After a transition to a new living situation, Daisy initially shows mild separation anxiety when crated or alone (barking, whining). But once she’s settled in the new environment and routine, she’s comfortable alone. She loves Nylabones and chew toys. In Dec 2020/Jan 2021, Daisy will be in board and train with Kay Fontaine of The Mindful Mutt in Seattle, WA. Daisy will be available for meet and greets with potential adopters during this time! If you’re interested in meeting Daisy, please fill out an adoption application first. Daisy is 1.5 years old, spayed, microchipped and has received age-appropriate core vaccines. Daisy’s adoption fee is $330. Please note: We do not do DNA testing on our foster dogs. The breed description is our best guess based on the dog’s appearance, mother’s appearance, paperwork, etc. ADOPTION PROCESS: – Adoption Application – Phone Convo – Meet & Greet – Home Visit – Application Approval – Adoption Fee.
