Bernie

Bernie was found as stray but his family did not come forward to claim him. He had large perianal tumors that could have been prevented had he been neutered at an early age. Since he has been neutered, the tumors have drastically shrunk in size. This tells us the tumors are not cancerous, which is … quite a relief. X-rays were recently performed to confirm there are no other masses. Bernie is a dachshund, approximately 8 to 10 years old. He is such a sweet fella who loves to be with his people. He is a pro snuggler and will burrow under the covers, if you let him. So, if you are looking for a cuddle bug, he is definitely your guy. Bernie is house and kennel trained. He is not a fan of being crated, and will do best in a home where he can be free to roam or not be crated for long periods of time. Bernie also walks well on a leash. Bernie’s adoption fee is $300. This includes vaccinations, neuter, microchip, dental cleaning, x-rays, wormer, and maintaining heartworm and flea preventions while in our care.
