Azul

About Azul

You must submit a Best Friend Pet Adoption application if you are interested in Azul. Azul is a happy, friendly and energetic guy. He really enjoys attention. He is always ready to go and do anything or settle in on the couch for snuggles. He can be timid in new situations, but responds well to calm encouragement. He enjoys playing with canine siblings but has learned to guard toys and may not be willing to share. Azul is very good with cats. Small children make Azul nervous, but he should be good with kids who are larger than he is. Azul can be vocal especially when alert barking but is mostly quiet. He really enjoys squeaking toys and can entertain himself for hours squeaking them. Azul is house and crate trained with no accidents and perfect manners. Azul has moderate energy and likes to do spins outside when he gets super excited. Due to his interest in squirrels and bunnies outside, Azul needs a fenced yard. Azul knows how to wait at the door until released with an ‘okay’ or ‘come’. He knows how to walk properly on a leash and sit at every stop on a walk. He may need gentle reminders, especially if there are lots of distractions. Azul likes to sleep on the couch, but will sleep in a crate and/or on a dog bed. Azul loves to be with his person, leaning into people for pets and loves to play with friendly dogs. Azul knows “sit”, “stay”, “down”, “off”, “quiet”, “come”, “back”, “paw” (left and right), “with-me” (walk beside me), “go-sniffing/go-potty”, “drop-it”, “leave-it” and “no”. Azul enjoys going out to eat with his people in dog-friendly cafes and restaurants, but due to his exuberant interest in meeting and hugging everyone, he will need a firm hand to help him be mindful of commands. Azul earned his AKC Canine Good Citizens Certificate in July 2015. Interested in adopting Azul? If so, please fill out our dog adoption application.
