Introducing Winston! A true survivor! He was transferred into our care from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after he tested positive for Parvo. He received treatment, and care at an animal hospital until he was cleared. He is now fully recovered, and soaking up all of the love in his foster home. … Here’s what we’ve learned about him so far from his amazing foster family: Only one accident in the house and knows sit and shake. Not the best leash manners and he doesn’t like bicycles but we’re working on that and the occasional jumping. Otherwise he’s a total angel. He is very snuggly and loves playing with toys. He’s such a versatile guy so we could see him with a variety of families. He definitely needs his exercise and socialization because he’s still a puppy (he will pick up a shoe on the ground to chew if left out, etc.) but he isn’t inherently destructive at all. He does well with people, and other dogs. We haven’t tested him out with cats just yet. He is still working on crate training, and being comfortable if left alone. He would do well with gentle children over 6 years old. Because he’s still quite a puppy we are seeking someone or a family that is home more through the day to continue his training and socialization. He does come with a prerequisite for positive reinforcement training, and confirmation of sign-up must be provided prior to adoption. Winston is currently in foster care.
