Violet

About Violet

“My name is Violet, and I was found as a stray. I think I’m about 6-7 years old and possibly a mix of some type of lab and/or shepherd? I’m already spayed, and available to go home with my furever family immediately. I’ve been staying with my foster mommy in a place called Topeka, where I get to snuggle with one female dog and three cats. In fact, my absolute favorite things in the world are snuggling, being loved on and petted, & napping. I get along with just about anything and everyone… even livestock! Sometimes though, it takes me a little bit to warm up to other canines, especially if they enter my personal space too quickly. I have the best manners ever!! I am completely potty trained & I am extremely quiet (except for an occasional snore session). My foster mommy has tried to get me to use my voice, but I haven’t barked at all. Not even when the doorbell rings and the other dog is barking her head off. I don’t even whimper or whine. When I want something, I gently paw at her leg. And if she ever tells me to stop, I do just that. And I don’t ever need to be crated, even when I am left at home with just the animals. We all hang out peacefully together and patiently wait for our human’s return. I don’t think I am afraid of fireworks. Because I woke up from one of my many naps to the sound of a neighborhood fireworks celebration after the Kansas City Chiefs won the AFC championship. And when my foster mommy said everything was OK, I laid back down and went right back to sleep. I love going on walks. I don’t even pull on my leash, and I obey my foster mommy when she tells me where to go. I don’t get distracted by much of anything on our walks, except for those really loud and big vehicles that occasionally pass by us. They’re a little scary to me, so we just watch them go by and then continue on our walk. We walk about 1 mile, twice a day. And even though I am told that I have some joint issues in my rear legs, I really haven’t shown any signs of that while I’ve been here. I let my foster mommy give me a nice pedicure and just laid there while she trimmed my nails. I don’t particularly care for riding in the car. It upsets my tummy, and if we go too long, I tend to share my previous meal on the floor mat. My foster mommy even tried to leave the window open for fresh air, but that didn’t really help very much. So now she knows to put a towel or something down for me just in case. My foster mommy thinks I’m absolutely perfect and I know she really does want to keep me for herself. But she keeps reminding me (and herself) that this is a temporary home until we find the perfect permanent home for me. I keep trying to convince her to keep me by looking her at her with my big sad puppy dog eyes and being even more affectionate and snuggly than I already am. So if you’re interested in meeting me, please submit an application ASAP as I am confident that anyone who meets me, will fall in love with me immediately!!!”
