About Violet
Check out Violet, one of eight mama dogs we’ve taken in since the start of the year. We first learned of Violet after she was posted on a shelter partner’s page. She was found in a local park, and was visibly very pregnant. She was taken to the shelter, and by the next morning, had given birth in a … kennel by herself. She was stressed, and understandably overprotective of her new babies. The shelter setting can be overwhelming, and she became defensive towards shelter staff, so her and her puppies were marked for euthanasia unless a rescue could help. We were determined to help her if we could break through her kennel behavior. After multiple visits and time away from her puppies, it became clear that she was not an aggressive dog, but she was failing in that environment. We asked our training partner to help and, thankfully, they said yes. Her puppies are now 6 weeks old and thriving, and Violet has been able to blossom into the dog we knew she could be. We know Violet loves to play with other dogs, is friendly with kids, and is both equally smart and playful! She is eager to please, and has been described as “incredibly chill,” especially for her breed! She is hesitant around men, and will show discomfort with some husky talk, but with time and patience she can be won over. She is potty trained, and still learning the crate is a safe space. She’s made enough progress that she’s now been cleared for adoption! Apply for this precious girl today!
