“Hello there, potential fur-ever family! My name is Trudy, and I’ve recently found my way to the caring folks at Just Paws. I embarked on a challenging journey from the streets of Mexico, where I faced the hardships of abandonment, hunger, and the constant search for safety. Thankfully, a … compassionate dog rescuer swooped in to save me, just as she does for many others like me. While my exact lineage remains a mystery, it’s believed that I’m a delightful mix of Border Collie/Shepherd. But let’s not get too caught up in the details – what matters most is the love and joy I’m ready to bring into your life! Do you think I’m pretty? Well, I’ve been told I have a beautiful spirit and a friendly attitude that charms everyone around me. I’ve been spending some quality time with my foster family, including a mom, dad, and two awesome teenage siblings who I adore already (and they love me too). The real cherry on top is my foster dog brother – we’ve become fast friends, enjoying playful runs and bonding time together. I’m an energetic gal, so if you’re seeking a lively companion for walks and play, look no further – I’m your girl! My foster family describes me as a love bug with a fantastic temperament. I’ve been a breeze to care for, sleeping through the night on my comfy dog bed. I’m not possessive about my food, and no signs of aggression have been observed. Grooming sessions are a delight, and I’m gearing up for a luxurious bath that I’m sure will make me feel even more fabulous! At approximately two years old and weighing in at 55lbs, I may seem sizable, but don’t let that fool you – I’m a gentle giant who adores people and other dogs. A forever home with a furry friend and a secure fenced yard for playtime would be ideal (but not a must for another dog if there are dogs I can socialize and play with). Exercise is a must, and I’m up for walks on the leash, showcasing my leash manners. I am also up for positive reinforcement training classes as I have been told it is a wonderful bonding time with my forever family. I would also like to mention I’m smart so I think I could be star at classes! House training is well underway, with only a couple of accidents since my arrival. It’s important to note that I do shed, so if you have allergies or prefer a low-shedding companion, I might not be the best fit. But if you can overlook a bit of fur for a whole lot of love, I promise to make your heart swell with joy. In the words of my foster mom, ‘Trudy is a joy to be around. She’s always happy, loves her belly rubs, is friendly with people and dogs, and really great on the leash.’ I’m thriving in my foster home, and I can’t wait to find my forever family.
