Toby

Say hello to Toby! Toby is a happy 8-week-old lab mix that weighs 8 lbs. He is estimated to be around 55-60 lbs once he is full grown. He is spunky and social, and loves to interact with the other dogs in his foster home and meet new doggy friends, too. When he’s not romping around playing chase in … the backyard with his siblings, he loves to play tug-o-war with the human kids. He loves spending time with his humans and finds every chance to shower them with the sweetest puppy kisses. He would be perfect for a family who is looking for an affectionate, social pup that they can take on fun adventures hiking or exploring nature trails, then cuddle up for some snuggles when you get home. Toby is medium energy and does require daily exercise sessions to burn his puppy energy. He loves tennis balls and playing fetch, and also a good game of tug-of-war. As he gets older and perfects his leash training skills, he would enjoy some longer adventures exploring the outdoors with his human. He would benefit from frequent doggy play dates or doggy day care so he can play with furry friends. When he is worn out from playtime, he loves to find a cozy dog bed or a comfy human lap to snooze away on. Toby is dog, cat and kid friendly. He does well with dogs of all ages and sizes, and is currently in a foster home with dogs ranging in age from puppy to senior. He would do best with another playful dog in his forever home that he can continue learning social skills and boundaries from. Right now, he just wants every dog he meets to be his best friend right away and is still working on learning social cues. He is curious to meet kitties, but would require slow introductions if there is a kitty in his forever home. His playful, happy-go-lucky temperament makes him the perfect pup to join a family with kids of all ages. He is currently in a foster home with a toddler and elementary age kids, and he loves them all. He would love to have some human kids in his forever home to play fetch with and snuggle with on the couch. Toby is kennel trained, and is currently working on mastering his potty training skills. He will use a potty pad in his puppy playpen while his foster mom is at work, but has been doing great transitioning outside now that he is vaccinated. He currently sleeps in a playpen/kennel setup at night, and doesn’t mind as long as he gets a quick play session in before bedtime. He will need leash training once he is in his forever home. His ideal home environment would be a house with a fenced in backyard that he can run around and play in. He would do well in an apartment, townhouse or condo as long as he has a human home majority of the day that will be able to take him outside for a quick energy burning exercise session a few times a day. Toby will have a $200 refundable neuter deposit added onto his adoption and transport fees because he is too young to be neutered at this time. He cannot be adopted into Canada at this time because of his age. If you are interested in adopting Toby, please apply for him.
