The first step in our adoption process is the application. Completed applications take priority over inquiries. Ted is in currently in a southern foster home, and will be transported north after adoption! Ted is an 8-week-old German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix. He will be a large dog full grown. Ted’s … mother and father were found in a field in rural MS where they had been running for several weeks. A volunteer would stop every day on the way home from work to feed them and try to win them over. One day they just decided they didn’t want to live on the run anymore and let our volunteer leash them and load them up in her truck. They went straight to the vet for checkups and tests. Mom checked out good and we suspected she was pregnant. Seven weeks later she had 11 puppies! Every puppy is healthy and every single puppy looks like Dad! Now this crew is ready for forever homes! Ted and his littermates are super social little buggers. They have been handled since day 1 by a variety of volunteers so they are used to people and being handled/picked up, etc. They are sweet and very friendly. They love to play and wrestle with each other. Then they like to pile up and nap. They enjoy being outside when the weather is nice, taking in the smells, laying in the grass, and exploring. They are little love bugs and will make a wonderful addition to a family that wants a big, sweet dog. Ted and his littermates are up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, tested/treated for internal parasites, spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. As with all of our dogs, we recommend a basic obedience class to help him understand what is expected of him, and this also helps with the bonding process. Ted‘s adoption fee is $500, which covers all his vetting, preventatives, fostering costs and transportation. There are no additional fees. We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 21. Out-of-town pets are cared for by non-local organizations who can make arrangements for the pet to be transported to your area.
