Splinter

About Splinter

Please read the entire bio on this dog before requesting an application. Many of our dogs have strict requirements for their adoption. 1. Kids over the age of five. 2. Needs a fully fenced yard. Splinter is a 5-month-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix puppy born at the rescue on 12/8/22 to Momma Pixley (already adopted), 13 pounds currently and expected to be between 15 – 20 pounds. Splinter is the friendliest one of the group. He loves to come say “HI!” and then head off to seek other things! He is energetic and adventurous! Like his siblings, he will dig, climb, jump off high places (like the hot tub cover!) and climb baby gates! He loves to wrestle and play with his siblings. He loves stuffy toys and often entices his siblings to play tug to the point of obliteration of said toy! He is a tenacious terrier type and driven, even though he has a Chihuahua cuddle side to him. He will need all the things a puppy needs: house training, leash walking and socialization. My guess is that he would indeed chase a cat to play with it! A house with fenced yard would suit him best as he has quite the energy and a loud pitched bark (that sounds almost like a Pug!) Kids over 5 would be enjoyed and tormented. Please email [email protected] for an application. Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at a central facility. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area. All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age or older. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay/neuter appointments. Applications can be obtained by email only. Adoption process includes application, meet & greet, home visit and reference check. Email Jamie at [email protected]. Please double check your email address before sending. We get a fair number of incorrect emails and Jamie is not able to contact potential adopters. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state. If you live within a four-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, we will ask you to make an appointment to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
