Smokey

Smokey is a Black solid, Spaniel of unknown type. He weighs about 11.10lbs and was intake on 6/10/23, approx. birthdate is March 20, 2023. Smokey Niko Scott is small in stature, but big in loving personality. He is shiny black and has the biggest sad eyes with droopy Snoopy ears. Personality Smokey … is very active, sweet, and good at listening to commands. He was friendly from the start, and remains super affectionate and well socialized with all other dogs and kids. He fits right in with everyone he encounters. He is submissive and obedient and eager to please and learn. Smokey took well to crate training, and seems to be absolutely fine in the cage as long as he can see his finders’ French Bulldog in his view. He eats well, and his finders have been working on his potty training. It has been going well, with only the occasional accident. He is good for his age! Background Smokey ran in through his finders’ garage as they were unloading their furniture from their moving truck into the house. Smokey confidently ran into their dining room and began playing with their French bulldog. They knocked on doors in the neighborhood, put up flyers on various websites, and took him to the vet to check for a chip but there wasn’t one. They attempted to take him to shelters in the area and were turned away as they are all past capacity. He was extremely skinny, so they fed him pumpkin, and puppy food along with a little rice to get his weight up. BARC advised them that they could have animal control come out, but they would have to put him back outside on the street and hopefully they would find and pick him up. With the unbearable heat, Smokey was lucky that his finders were not going to put a puppy or any dog for that matter back out in the streets. He can do well with dogs, cats and kids.
