Roxy

About Roxy

You must fill out an application and get pre-approved before meeting any Save-A-Mutt dogs. We are a foster based rescue. There is no facility to visit. Roxy is a senior lady who is dreaming of a forever home. She is a loving girl who would enjoy a family that is home more often than not. Roxy came to us scared and unsure of people but two very special foster families worked together to build Roxy’s confidence while giving her the time that she needed to learn how to trust again. She will take a little time to adjust to a new home and will need someone patient to let her come to them when ready. Roxy has great house manners. This is what Roxy’s foster families would like everyone to know about Roxy… “Roxy will need a patient family that will let Roxy come to them. They should learn her signals and not startle her when approaching. We think that she is visually impaired as a result of early cataracts. Her hearing may also be diminished and that also makes it difficult for her to be aware of her surroundings at times. Roxy loves walks and being outside. She is very snuggly but doesn’t demand attention. Roxy loves car rides and to be included in the family outings. The best thing about Roxy is that she is the Queen of hugs and cheek to cheek loves”. Roxy received a Senior Wellness Exam with bloodwork. She is presently taking trazodone, fluoxetine and gabapentin to help with her adjustment. Roxy coughs frequently and has probable tracheal sensitivity. She is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on her vaccines. Roxy is 12 years old and weighs 13 pounds. Please note, we have approximately a 200-mile adoption radius from Stanwood WA for our Senior Dogs. Save-A-Mutt may limit this distance based on the long term needs of this pet. We don’t adopt out of state except to the Vancouver BC area. We don’t ship dogs. Once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your dog. For questions about this dog please call Elizabeth Woche, Senior and Special Needs Dog Coordinator, at 425-345-3876.
