Rosie

Rosie is a 3-year-old female lab / hound mix with the absolute sweetest disposition. She is so gentle, loving, cuddly, and just an all-around joy. She currently weighs about 50lbs but she needs to add a few more to be at a healthy weight. She is fully house broken and is such a good listener. All … you have to do is say her name and she’s immediately focused on you. She loves to play in the water, chase a ball, and play with other dogs. She is crate trained though it’s completely not necessary with her, she hasn’t gotten into any trouble at our house. She likes car rides and is a great guest if you bring her along to a friend’s house for a visit. She’s active but also perfectly happy to nap. One of the very few downsides with Rosie is that she has some skin allergies which require regular medicated baths and oral medications. She also has some weakness in her back legs so you have to watch how far you walk. She does great on a leash though. She is not a good fit with pet birds (we’ve been trying to teach her that our parakeet is a friend not food but it’s a slow lesson to learn), she has been kid and dog tested, not sure about cats. She’s tall, goofy, and not the most coordinated so if anything, I’d be worried about accidental injuries, not intentional. Rosie has one of the best temperaments I’ve ever been around in a dog. She really is the total package. Fill out an application if you’d like to learn more and see if you would be a good fit together. All UnderDogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm checked, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccines and heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. For consideration for one or more dogs, we require that an on-line application is filled out. Sorry, we do not adopt outside of Florida. Applicants are subject to a home visit, and veterinary references will be checked. Please include a vet reference (including phone number) when applying online. Our application process: FIRST, an application must be approved for adoption from our rescue. SECOND, we determine whether the dog that has been applied for is a “good match” for the household that wants to adopt him/her. We take into consideration the dog’s activity level, compatibility with other members of the household (human and other pets), etc. If your application has been approved, but the dog you applied for is no longer available, please take the time and look over our adoptable dogs again.
