Rocky Road is 8 years old with large size (75-80lbs). He is a Golden Retriever mix with moderate energy. He is gentle and loyal. No cat home please. I am … a sweet, gentle soul who loves nothing more than to chill out on the couch with my humans. I may not be a ‘spring chicken’ anymore, but that has its benefits! I don’t enjoy my kennel however I am fully trusted loose in the house. I know to do my business outside and am great at letting you know when I need to go. I haven’t spent a lot of time on leash in the past, but I am actively learning my manners so I’m hoping for a family who will help me perfect them. I have made a few doggy friends but I have decided that I’m a “My way or the highway” kinda dog so they need to be able to put up with my strong personality and play the way I want to play in order for us to be friends. I can be pushy around other canine companions and don’t enjoy being told off so I need humans to remind me of my boundaries and enforce breaks when play is getting to be a little bit too much. I absolutely love children and am content playing with them for hours or just cuddling on the couch with them while I lick leftover snacks from their fingers. I am not a fan of felines and require a home without any of them around. Now, I’ve definitely put on a few extra pounds throughout the years and need a family to help me trim up a bit so that my joints can stay as healthy as possible. I think we all know this struggle so I’m looking forward to being lean again with your help! You may think that because I’m not a puppy that I won’t have the energy to play, but you’d be wrong! I still love to chase a ball every now and then and enjoy my walks. I have the added benefit to being well balanced and also enjoy my time lazing around the house and cuddling up on the couch with my humans. I am going to need a family who will help me get back my puppy-ish figure as I’ve packed on a little bit of “winter weight” (who hasn’t, am I right?). I am on a strict diet to help me get back to where I need to be so that I can live a happy life with you!
