About Redford
Redford is an amazing and loving dog. He is probably the best snuggler in the universe and will melt your heart with his golden eyes and big heart. He is protective, goofy, loving and dedicated to his people. He has too many funny idiosyncrasies to describe and we are excited for you to discover … them. Redford is very smart and learns new tricks quickly. He has done well with positive reinforcement training and has also benefited from vibrational e-collar use for high prey drive and recall when off leash. He is treat motivated. He loves food and cuddling. He has come incredibly far with his bravery in the Pacific Northwest rainforest and is the champion of log crossings and so fun to watch in the forest. Redford is neutered, all medical is up to date, and he is vaccinated with vaccines up to date! He likes a good walk but is very relaxed after one good walk and has no problem with lazy days. He barks a little bit if someone knocks at the door but isn’t anxious to be left alone. He is house trained and has never had an accident in the house. He is crate trained and does pretty well with being crated after a few barks initially to remind you he is in there. Redford does have some leash reactivity that is managed well with treats and distraction. He is not super into bigger male dogs and needs slow introduction. He plays very well with smaller female dogs and has lots of girlfriends in the neighborhood. Redford will require slow introductions with men and children. He loves people and is very interested in them. We think he would be excellent with a family who has mature children who can respect his boundaries! He has done well with children in the past according to his previous foster He came from a foster family who had very good experiences with him with children so we know he has it in him to be great with kids but he needs a slow introduction and patience.
