Popsi

Popsi is a male, 2-year-old, 60 lb. Black Labrador Retriever Mix. He is a love bug! He’ll cover you in kisses first and introduce himself after you’re covered in slobber. He loves to please humans and is very food motivated. He’s already picking up on “sit” and “off” for basic commands. He is eager … to show you his excitement so there are some manners still to work on. Popsi was found abandoned in a crate on the side of the road in Louisiana; thankfully, it hasn’t left this boy with emotional baggage. He loves living with a family & gets along with other dogs. Popsi will snuggle on a couch (or bed) if you allow it. He is house trained and will go to the door once he knows which door is for outside visits. Any kids in the home should be older kids, due to his size and because he is a very strong boy. He can easily knock over a little human when he’s trying to play. We’re unsure about his exposure to cats. He is crate trained and will go into a crate for treats. He sleeps in his crate at night. An active family with a fenced in yard to chase sticks or tennis balls would be great! This wonderful boy has loads of energy to burn off. He definitely needs some more training on a leash/harness. He’s very strong and still pulls out of excitement to go walking. He’s also very happy to chew toys to pieces. He chews a lot. (He will sometimes swallow pieces that he chews off, so a close eye should be kept on what he’s chewing. A family that won’t leave precious toys and stuffed animals within reach will be happy to have him in their home. Popsi doesn’t bark much on his own accord. His foster-sister leads the charge on that and he is happy to follow her lead when she wants to send out a warning of a squirrel or bird in the yard. This boy will be a great addition to a loving family who want a buddy to play with, walk with and enjoy some cuddles.
