“Hello world, I am Pippin and I really need a forever home! I’m an active, but cuddly 3ish-year-old Mini Aussie (or mix thereof). I am quite small at about 17 pounds. My hobbies include herding ball, squeaky toys and hand targeting. I really like to learn new things! I’ve been in a foster home for … a few months getting some health things under control and I’m happy to say that I am ready to possibly meet my forever people! My ideal home would include no cats or small pocket pets and if you have dogs, an older female may be a good match for me. I really do not get along with all dogs that I meet, and tend to accept dogs older and just slightly larger than myself. I’ve never met a big dog though. I take a daily medication to help me with some compulsions that I have, so care must be taken to keep me making good decisions and not getting stuck running in circles or chasing shadows/lights. My foster mom has worked hard to help me curb these behaviors. I need a forever home that has some dog behavior knowledge and a willingness to continue my education. I do have allergies and sensitivities and I eat a commercially prepared raw food diet. I can be a picky eater at times. I don’t do well with chicken, beef or salmon it seems. I like freeze dried pork treats a lot! I am a double merle with blue eyes and it was first thought that I was hearing and visually impaired, but my hearing is wonderful and I see okay as well. Honestly, I am afraid of new people but once I get to know someone I am full of cuddles. It takes time to earn my trust. I was a stray that was emaciated and so scared I had to be trapped, so I may be a flight risk in a new place. I have a 4′ fence at my foster house and have never tried to jump it. I like exploring outside. I am crate trained and do not have accidents. I know ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘touch’ and I have a phenomenal whistle recall. My adopter will receive a few free training sessions as well as a new whistle for my recall work! I am currently up to date on all vaccines but am not neutered just yet. I have an appointment in a month for that near Pittsburgh. Getting an appointment was hard! But yeah that’s me – I’m Pip. I’m just waiting on my forever home! Know anyone?
