Phylis (Foster-to-Adopt)

Phylis came from Mexico on a scorching hot day, our rescue partners discovered a tied-up bag outside of the shelter. Unfortunately, they’ve come to know that a bag like this usually means abandoned pups. Inside the bag, they found a mama and her four puppies, who were only a few months old. The … dogs had been so desperate for fresh air that they had ripped a hole in the bag, struggling to get out. Phylis is a bundle of joy, filled with boundless puppy energy. She enjoys playtime with people and other dogs alike, making her the life of the party wherever she goes. When you come home, expect an enthusiastic greeting with her tail wagging excitedly. Caring and affectionate, Phylis is always up for a good cuddle session with her human companions. She loves being the center of attention and thrives on human interaction. Her playful spirit knows no bounds, and she’ll happily engage in games, especially with her beloved toys. In typical puppy fashion, Phylis is medium energy and will need at least two walks a day and plenty of canine enrichment. Being just a puppy, her new family should be prepared to support her with basic training, such as potty training, manners, and leash skills. A home with other pups and a backyard where she can romp around would be a dream come true for Phylis, but she could also do well in an apartment, and as a solo pet so long as her exercise and socialization needs were met. She would also benefit from having parks and other green areas in the vicinity to take her daily walks. Phylis was briefly tested with cats and did well. She has not been tested with children but, based on her temperament, her rescuer believes she could likely live with respectful children who understand doggie etiquette. A home with very young children may not be ideal since Phylis may jump up when excited. Her new family should be prepared to monitor all interactions to ensure everyone’s safety.
