About Peach (Super Mario Brothers Pups)

“Hi! My name is Peach (Super Mario Brothers Pups)! My mom came to OPH on May 3rd and me and my siblings were born the next day! We are so happy that we were born in our foster home instead of a shelter. I am available to be adopted on June 30th. We are Hound mix dogs and have long silky-smooth ears. I am very friendly and a outgoing pup! I love getting attention and being picked up, and will give you plenty of kisses! I have lots of puppy energy, and can’t wait to play with you! Although I am small now, I am going to be a big dog! Weight estimators say I may be between 70 – 80 lbs as an adult. Please make sure you are ready for a large dog for your family! I am just a baby and my adopters should be respectful of my small size and puppy needs, such as not being left alone for more than 4 hours at a time, and to teach me proper manners with play, potty, leash walking and crating. In return, I promise to try really hard to make you proud and to give lots of puppy kisses!” Please note that because this puppy is so young, it has only received 2 of the required 3 – 4 puppy distemper vaccinations. This is very important because it means that the immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, the puppy must stay out of public places where it could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppy’s medical safety and longevity. This puppy is micro-chipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines and monthly preventatives and is available to go home as early as June 30, 2023. Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. (OPH) rescues dogs and cats of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters in NC, VA, MD, and SC, reducing the numbers being euthanized. With limited resources, the shelters are forced to put down 50-90% of the animals that come in the front door. OPH provides pet adoption services to families located in VA, DC, MD, PA and neighboring states. OPH is a 501(c)(3) organization and is 100% donor funded. OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each pet before finding a forever home. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
