Paco is an adorable male Mexican Street Dog mix pup who will soon be arriving in the States from our rescue partner in Baja California Sur, Mexico. We’re told that he’s part of a group of 4 puppies who are super sweet, extremely friendly and playful. He’s up to date on his shots, is healthy and has … already been fixed. Young pups like these will benefit from training, guidance, patience and lots of socialization opportunities, which will help with their growth and development. Someone who’s home most of the day who can tend to all of their puppy needs as they learn and grow would be ideal for a young pup’s long term success. Will you be his hero? Steps to adopting – Adoption applications will be kept on file for 1 year and can be applied towards multiple adoptions within that time frame. The first step to adopting a dog from SDH is to complete the adoption application. The application takes a few days to be approved. Once completed and approved it is good for multiple adoptions and saved for future use. To finalize an adoption you must complete the contract and pay the full adoption fee of $550. The adoption fee helps cover our costs. On average, per dog, it costs between $500-$700 for vetting, transport, sterilization and more. All dogs are rescued and do not transport to SDH until they are healthy and ready to be adopted. All dogs are vetted before they fly, given standard vaccines and rabies, dewormed, given flea/tick treatments and tested for heartworm. Most dogs are sterilized before they fly, however if this is not the case we will spay/neuter them once they arrive at our cost. Upon arrival all dogs are seen for a wellness exam and parasite screening. Any parasite treatment necessary is at our expense. Once the adoption is finalized, any further medical care or treatment will not be covered by SDH, unless discussed prior. All known issues are disclosed to the best of our ability prior to finalizing the adoption.
