About Nigel Thornberry the Big Dog with the Biggest Heart

“The bigger the dog, the bigger the heart. Yep, that’s me. Nigel Thornberry, human lover extraordinaire, at your service. You’ve got pets to give, I have a head, belly and booty ready for the receiving! Are you thinking what I’m thinking?? Did we just become best friends?!?! Let me tell you more… I may be a lab mixed with mastiff; the rescue is not sure on breed. I’m only 70 lbs., but my big jowl line facial structure has them guessing on what handsome breed I am mixed with. Everyone says I am gorgeous!!!! I’m a simple fella. I just need a bed, short walks, and some yummy food for my tummy…that’s my absolute favorite!! I like to stay nice and plump – better for cuddling! I love to roll on my back in the grass and wiggle my body back and forth, I’m super cute when I do this. I love to play chase and romp in the yard with other dogs. My tail wags and I am in my happy place running with friends. I have not shown any fence reactivity with other dogs at the Fenceline. I’m also totally fine wandering around in the yard by myself and I don’t panic about it. I will say that I enjoy savoring my food and treats in private away from other dogs. Don’t get me wrong, I love to hang with other dogs. I can pass other dogs in public no problem and often at the rescue I free roam in yards with other dogs. I don’t rough and tumble with the rougher players, but I love to watch the other dogs do that, and I love to chase and be chased by other dogs. I am a total lover boy. I will shower you with kisses if you let me, wiggle my booty your way for some scratchins. I swear it has a mind of its own! I know how to sit and like to play fetch with a ball or keep away sometimes– hehe! Car rides? Uffff, now you’re speaking my language. Let’s goooooo! I love walking at the park or checking out new stores. That means more people to love on! I can get a little excited on the leash and pull a little. I can’t help it–I just love everyone and want to share my love with the world! A little treat in your hand and I am at attention. Easy peasy. I am super comfortable around the kids I’ve met so far. I met a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old. I am confident in myself and love humans so much that I did perfectly around them. I also did an amazing job receiving treats from their hands, allowing them to hang on me, and even allowing them to walk me on leash. I am so eager to please humans, even the young people. I am very food motivated so if you want me to learn something new, just keep some treats handy and I’m your guy. I am a lovable guy with so much to offer. I will be your very best, most loyal friend. I am easy to have around, I am a quiet boy in my crate, and I don’t demand a whole lot from you, I’m just grateful to have a companion, and that’s what I will be to you! Oh, and by the way I love wearing pjs too! Total package, huh? I must say I am a favorite everywhere I go. Hurry and apply, I can’t wait to meet you!!” Please email [email protected] with any questions. Dogs are available for adoption in NV, MT, CO, UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast! Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a non-profit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dogs’ needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: 30-day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.), a free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8-week course of one session per week), one free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan Coupons for a fun visit! We celebrated our 5-year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save two lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $42 surcharge for transport. Out-of-town pets are cared for by non-local organizations who can make arrangements for the pet to be transported to your area.
