“Hi! I’m Molly Malone, the fastest friend you’ll ever have. And I know, as a Belgian Malinios I’m not just fast; I’m cool. I’m sure you’ve seen other dogs of the same breed in movies and TV shows. But just because we’re popular doesn’t mean we’re for everyone. I am a high energy dog who needs lots … of playtime and enrichment. Do you want to play fetch for an hour? Run a few miles? Maybe start a dog agility class? I’m the girl of your dreams. However, like many other Mals, I can be pushy and need a firm handler. But I’m a fast learner! Shelter staff have found I know sit, down, and fetch. You can hold the tennis ball and ask me to sit before you throw, and I can do it. I also love the doggy agility course in the play yard and can run up and down the A Frame with ease. So I might be a good agility prospect! You just have to put in the work. Lucky for you, I live for praise and playtime. My tennis ball will be our best friend. Also, I love a good treat filled Kong after my exercise. But plenty of pets and attention will turn me into a wiggly cuddle monster. I’m definitely more of a lover than a fighter. I haven’t met any other dogs yet, so the shelter doesn’t know how I may do. When I get excited I’ll jump on people (I’m sure if you train me we can fix that bad habit together) so I would not be suited for a family with small children. When you meet me, you’ll notice two things; I’m on the smaller side (but don’t let that fool you, I’m a fur missle during playtime), and I have a large scar that wraps all the way around my nuzzle. Shelter staff think someone tied my mouth shut when I was younger, which left my scars. I have no idea why someone would be so cruel, but it doesn’t make me any less stunning. Also don’t let my picture full you; I have perky Malinois ears that stick straight up! I just pull them back every time someone tries to get my glamor shot.
