Mitski

Mitski is a Mini Poodle, about 5 years old and 9 lbs. He is UTD on vaccinations. He had spay scheduled for 7/18 at BVSPCA in Dover. Keeping this appointment is a condition of adoption. She does not have free run of the house, is kept very close to us and is taken out on a regular basis. With 5 … foster siblings there is always someone needing to go out. She has not had any accidents under these conditions. She will whine a little if she’s in her crate to let you know she needs to go out. Crate trained: Yes. It’s her safe place. Good in the car: Yes. She’s only ridden 3 times and has been in a crate all 3 times. She is very quiet and calm. Good on a leash: No. She is not a fan at all and will need lots of practice and patience. Energy level: very low. Need a fenced in yard: Yes. She dislikes the leash and needs a safe place to go potty. Dog Friendly: Yes. However, she has only been around dogs up to 25 pounds that are older and calm. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? Yes, she would thrive with another dog as she tends to follow the lead of her foster siblings. Cat Friendly? Yes, uninterested. Kid Friendly: She was fantastic with a very patient and dog friendly 4-year-old little girl (who proudly proclaimed Mitski is her new BFF). Her human foster brother is a teen that she truly adores. If yes, what’s the youngest child you’d recommend they be placed with? Maturity is important. Any age that can be respectful and gentle. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Mitski came from a puppy mill in Ohio. She is learning how to be a dog. She will need love and patience. She still needs a full grooming (she’s had a couple of baths and has been cleaned up quite a bit, but needs love and time). She is super sweet and has come a long way since arriving. However, she still isn’t a fan of the leash and is very jumpy. She will need a family that is calm and gentle. She prefers wet food and needs to gain a couple of pounds. She should be fine to switch to kibble at some point, but even softened she refused to eat it at her foster home. This sweet girl is ready to live out the rest of her life in the lap of luxury.
