MARLEY

About MARLEY

“Hello kind hoomans! My name is Marley and I am looking for my furever home! Here is some info about me: I’m a Chihuahua Mix, approx. 1.5 years, weigh about 10 lbs, 4.5 kg and stand (paws to top of head) approx. 17”. I was rescued just recently when I had been abandoned on a busy street in Mexico. Luckily, I was not hit and a nice hooman captured me and took me to safety at the shelter. Can you believe a cutie pie like me was abandoned?! I have so much love and life left to give and I am desperate to find a furever home where I can get all the cuddles and love I deserve! I am currently living inside the shelter because being abandoned on the street gave me quite a scare. I can walk well on leash but I do get spooked, so I need a nice, patient hooman to treat me with kindness and help me overcome my fear! I get along with all dogs at the shelter and I don’t show any signs of resource guarding, so I would be happy to have a brother or sister. I don’t shy away from new two-legged friends, but I do need time to fully appreciate and trust your attention. I am just still a little worried you’ll change your mind and not like me! I am a pretty chill gal but I do like to get my zoomies out, that’s for sure! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids Unknown (I haven’t been tested around children). Dogs Yup! I live with lots of other dogs at the shelter and we get along just fine. Cats Unknown (I haven’t been tested around cats, but the nice person who rescued me had a neighbor with cats and I was just peachy-keen around them!). I don’t seem to have much of a prey drive although I’m not too sure how I’ll react around new things like squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills work in progress. I am still scared of the outside world, and need some patience and guidance. House trained work in progress. Since I live inside right now, it can be confusing. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn proper habits in my new home.” Please note: WCP will provide 3 complimentary training sessions with Marley before the finalization of your adoption. WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training before their dog arrives. HEALTH NOTES: “I am spayed and have been vaccinated for distemper, rabies, and heartworm. I receive a monthly pill to prevent heartworm. Please note: WCP will happily provide all vet records for Betty. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes.” DISCLAIMER: Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.
