Major

About Major

Major is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. Major is a 3-year-old, 48-pound, Hound mix boy. Major was been a stray roaming the streets in a neighboring city to our southern rescue partner in Tennessee for quite some time now. Several people in that town had been feeding him and trying to find him a home. They reached out to our partner for assistance. All of the people that were feeding him have bragged about how sweet and gentle he is. One of them wrote,” He is the sweetest thing! He is very patient and gentle with a puppy. I wish I could keep him myself.” He is now safely in rescue and doing so well! He is doing well with the other dogs and also walks well on a leash. He is so incredibly loving and everyone in rescue just loves him. He will need a family committed to helping him with training and learning all the rules and behaviors of being an inside dog. He hasn’t been around children but he is so kind and gentle that the rescue believes he would be just fine and love the love of kids who are gentle too! This handsome boy deserves a future of having a family to love – and if you are lucky it just might be your family! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Major, you must fill out an adoption application. His adoption fee is $495. PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own – a true and adorable American Mutt. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. Out-of-town pets are cared for by non-local organizations who can make arrangements for the pet to be transported to your area.
