Lucrecia

About Lucrecia

Lucrecia is fostered in Saltillo Mexico and ready to travel to the east coast on our cross country trip if adopted! Lucrecia is a female mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback, about 3 years old and 33 lbs., with length 24 in and height 22 in. She comes with spay/neuter certificate, 2 shots of DHPPI vaccine, rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine and dewormed. She is given 4DX test and certificate, Heartworm test negative certificate, monthly preventive protection Nexgard Spectra (fleas, ticks and heartworm) health certificate, and vaccines booklet. Wandering the streets of Saltillo as a stray dog, Lucrecia was in heat and lots of dogs were bothering her. She was very distrustful and we struggled a lot to gain her trust and be able to help her. Her front paw was injured. The vet said it could have been a puncture with something sharp that got buried and caused inflammation and infection. She got treated with no problem. She is a very intelligent, affectionate, playful and very active dog. She loves playing with her foster mates and she feels very safe now that she doesn’t have to keep wandering around looking for food and a roof over her head. Adoption Preferences: – House owners with fenced backyard. – Families that enjoy outdoor activities and experienced with the breed. – Families with open conscience about what is the rescue of street animals and their behaviors of need for protection and education. – With experience in dog behavior and training background. – High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies. She is not house trained. Our big job with rescued pets is to rehab their health, taking them to the vet as many times is require for their vaccines, spay/neuter, surgery, diseases, rehab emotions, attend their necessities such as feeding them, cleaning their common areas, keeping them entertained, safe, healthy and protecting them from any dangerous situation. We have so many pets in foster that it is an impossible job to house-train each one!!! Adoption Protocol – 1.) Complete our online application. Please be as thorough as possible. Our goal is to pair you up with the perfect dog for your lifestyle and family dynamic. The more pertinent information you give us the better we can do this. 2.) Phone / Email interview. After we have either approved your application, or if we have more questions to ensure a perfect match, we will schedule a brief phone / email interview when everyone in the potential adoptive household is able to attend. This will be conducted by an ADAC team member and can include the foster of the dog as well. 3.) Home check. A member of the ADAC team will visit you in your home or virtually to ensure it is the best fit for the dog you are interested in adopting. 4.) Meet & Greet. A member of the ADAC team will organize with you and with your prospective pup and the foster home, a virtual meet n greet This video call is for you to meet the pet and for us to make a visual check of your home and meet all your members of your family. Sometimes we also send a volunteer to do a home check in person. 5.) Trial adoption period. If, after the meet & greet, the potential adopter and the ADAC team member agree this is a good fit, we will send you an adoption contract. Each dog will have different needs and different trial timelines. During this phase communication with the ADAC team is imperative. You will be given thorough instructions on how to decompress and integrate this particular dog to your home. If you follow all instructions and communicate any issues to the ADAC team and it does not work out your adoption fee will be refunded, minus any non-refundable transport fees (if applicable) and the dog will be returned to a foster home. The adoption fee will be finalized prior to transport which includes spay/neutered, complete vaccination dhppi, rabies, bordetella, deworming, one-month preventive anti tick, fleas, heartworm treatment (nexgard) and health certificate. Transport fee (the service will be given by a transport company) will be paid by adopter prior to departure of the pet, which is between $300-$350 USD depending on the city/state of delivery. Please understand that our rescued pets are the most important to us. They are animals that are sentient beings who have been rescued from situations of severe abuse, and abandonment. We invest time, money, a lot of effort and emotional stress for their physical and emotional rehabilitation, which we do not make any monetary charge for that social work. Because of that we tried to do an exhaustive investigation of the possible new families of our beloved rescues. Doing the right things to find the right family every animal we rescue deserves a loving, safe, forever home. It’s a responsibility we take very seriously at ADAC. We are grateful to receive messages from individuals interested in adopting one of our cats or dogs, but we must take certain steps to ensure their safety, as best we can. Every potential adopter must fill out an application and answer questions that help determine their suitability. Many of our enquiries come from outside of Mexico and we are unable to conduct a home visit. Therefore, we ask for photos of the residence as part of our due diligence. For example, if the dog in question is an escape artist, we would need to know if the yard is fenced in and a photo would assure us of this. We would like to continue with the adoption protocol, for this we need to receive photos or video of your home to confirm that it is a safe and suitable place for the pet. This information we obtain from potential adopters is shared only with members of the adoption team involved in the application. Our database is only accessible by select ADAC members, and we never share any personal information with any other organization or business. If you are not willing to share the information we need to finalize an adoption, we invite you to explore other organizations. These animals are our family and we need to know they will be cared for as such. We are proud to have connected many beautiful animals into loving homes. IMPORTANT NOTE: Many of our dogs will receive numerous applications, and we ask for your patience during the process of finding the very best match. Our dogs are fostered in Texas or Saltillo Mexico, but available for adoption in various cities/states. Out-of-town pets are cared for by non-local organizations who can make arrangements for the pet to be transported to your area.
