Louise

Louise is 1.5 years old and weighs 65-70 lbs. There’s nothing Louise loves more than kisses! If you’re looking for a dog to follow you around everywhere, pretend they’re a lap dog at over 65 lbs, and give you lots of kisses, Louise is the gal for you. Her beautiful brindle coat that is super soft … and her pretty eyes are a bonus too! The thing Louise loves more than her human and giving kisses is other dogs. She is currently in a foster home with four other dogs and gets along very well with all of them. She’s very submissive, and loves to play and run with the other dogs. Louise recently came to Illinois at the beginning of February from a shelter in Tennessee. She’d turned up there as an older puppy in early March 2023. Having spent nearly a year growing up in the shelter, Louise is going to need people patient enough to help her learn how to be a house dog. Specifically, she’s working on potty training. She actually enjoys being in her crate (sadly she’s used to being in a kennel more than 23 hours a day so it makes sense). Louise has done pretty good on walks so far, and she’s loving being able to cuddle up on the couch. She’s fond of chewing on a benebone and has yet to chew on anything she shouldn’t. Sweet Louise can be shy of new people and new situations, her go to move is to pancake on the floor or lay down. She’s particularly weary of men. This beautiful girl is so incredibly loving and sweet, and will aim to please her people. You will never feel alone with Louise around. Louise is looking for a foster to adopt home who is willing to take her to vet appointments. Once she is spayed and up to date at the vet we can make the adoption official!
