Lando is a 1-year-old, intact male, long haired German shepherd/Dutch shepherd mix. Embarked in April and the mix is about 50/50. He will be neutered prior to going to his new home. Looking for an active pet home or performance home. He has been in foster since March when he was pulled from a euth … list. He has spent the last 10 months working on manners and how to be a dog. He knows basic obedience, is prong collar and e-collar conditioned, house trained, and crate trained. He is dog social but can be barrier reactive with new dogs if in a kennel or on leash. He needs a dedicated owner as he can be a lot of dog if not properly exercised physically and mentally. He enjoys swimming, hiking, and playing ball. Currently he lives with dogs, cats, and horses. He will chase cats if they run outside but in the house he leaves them alone. He ignores and respects horses. He is not a service dog prospect. We would not recommend a home with young kids as he is mouthy when he gets over stimulated/aroused but can be redirected with a ball. He loves the water and enjoys fetch. He may enjoy nosework, agility, dock diving, obedience (he’s very flashy), or fast cat. He would make a great adventure partner as well or someone looking for a ranching companion dog.
