About Lacey

Lacey is approximately 1 years old, 30 lb Australian Cattle dog/ Australian Shepherd mix that joined us from California. She is a very smart and energetic, which is typical as a working breed, so she will need lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Lacey had very little socialization before coming to us and requires slow introductions to new people, other dogs, and situations. She does very well with women, defensive around men until she gets used to them, and any children would need to be older and respectful. Lacey does okay with other dogs, but might prefer to be an only pet. Other/small animals are unknown. Her ideal home would be with someone with a yard and the time to devote to helping her gain some confidence through rewards based training. Apartment life would not fit this breed. Lacey is quite smart and already knows “sit, down”, and will throw up a shake to get treats. Her foster is working on redirecting her attention when she is unsure and lacks confidence to curb some of Laceys defensive tendencies.
