Dumpling

About Dumpling

Dumpling is a young Newfoundland mix who won the hearts of campers who found him living alone near campgrounds for special needs kids. He was being fed and cared for by construction workers near the campsite who all fell in love with him. The camp staff described him as a gentle giant who gets along well with everyone including the camp service dogs. A counselor who felt a special compassion for him cut out hundreds of burrs and huge mats and got him into rescue. Dumpling has been since been shaved down, his coat is starting to grow back and he will be big and fluffy in no time. Dumpling has been a good boy in foster care. He doesn’t bark at the doorbell and he greets visitors happily without jumping. Like other former stray dogs he will always need to be fed separately to prevent food anxiety. Dumpling is 1.5-2 years and he loves dogs! Cats are untested and it is reported that he loves kids but no official kid test has been done while in foster. Dumpling’s wish list for a furever home: a playful sibling and a big back yard with trees and bushes to hide in. It is OK if his human’s work, he trusts you to come home and will be happy to watch the house for you while you are gone. He is currently located in TX.
