Dabny is a 4-year-old, neutered male Bulldog/Pitbull mix, 61 pounds. He is in a foster home in Houston, Texas and is available to transport to an approved adopter. How handsome is this guy! He was saved from euthanasia at an overcrowded shelter in Houston. He is really very sweet. He is in a home with kids ages 4, 5,10 and 12. He loves them and they love him! We think he would do great in a home with kids. He has been around other dogs. He is a typical bully where he can be stiff when first meeting and needs some time to warm up. He’s not submissive, but not totally dominant either. He will most likely react to the same energy the other dog presents. Once he has some time to acclimate, he is happy to run around and hang out. We think he would do well in a home with another dog with someone who is able to manage that transition. He would also do great as a solo dog as he really loves his people. Dabny is lower energy and does not require a lot of physical activity. He enjoys his walks. He does not react when seeing other dogs on leash. He does not pull on leash, stays close and walks really well! He tends to walk a little on the slower side. We have no history with cats. He is fully house broken. He may initially protest going into a crate, but that goes away after a couple days. He has no issues in the crate. His foster mom works from home, so he’s not been left out alone as someone is generally home. Dabny doesn’t seem to care for toys too much. He takes treats very gently and he equally loves everyone in the home. There have been no issues with him being protective over anyone- he is a lover! He is a big couch potato and will follow you around the house if you let him. He loves beds (his own and human) and couches. He is super sweet and loving. His foster mom describes him as a “love bug.” He loves to cuddle people of all ages. He has not met a stranger! He is usually fairly quiet. He knows basic commands, very treat motivated, gentle, sweet and kind. He is a fairly low maintenance guy. We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog’s exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. Out-of-town pets are cared for by non-local organizations who can make arrangements for the pet to be transported to your area.
