Cosmo, a truly captivating canine, is in search of his forever family. This exceptional pup boasts a delightful personality that is sure to melt your heart. At approximately 3.5 months old and weighing under 40 lbs, Cosmo is expected to reach a size of 50-70 lbs when fully grown. While we cannot … confirm his breed without a DNA test, our suspicion points toward a mix of Husky and Shepherd. Cosmo’s background remains somewhat of a puzzle, as he was found as a stray alongside dogs believed to be his littermates and subsequently taken in by animal control. Since then, he has resided in a shelter environment, limiting his exposure to the outside world. As an untrained and youthful puppy, Cosmo brims with potential and exuberance. He requires a patient and committed owner who can provide guidance in basic obedience, house training, and socialization, helping shape him into a well-rounded dog. During his time at the shelter, Cosmo has made progress in learning to walk on a leash and continues to discover new things each day. While his interactions with children have been limited, it’s important to supervise their interactions, given that puppies can occasionally display nippiness. Although Cosmo hasn’t been tested with cats, arrangements can be made upon request. He gets along well with other dogs and may benefit from having a canine companion. Initially, Cosmo may exhibit shyness and will require an owner who can foster his confidence and understand his limited exposure thus far. A compassionate home that offers him a life beyond the shelter is precisely what Cosmo needs. Ideally, his new family should be prepared for the joys and challenges of raising a puppy, with access to a yard, as he is expected to grow into a medium to large dog. Apartment living may not be suitable for him due to his anticipated size. While prior breed experience is not mandatory, we strongly recommend researching the traits and needs of Huskies and Shepherds, as they may not be suitable for every owner, and we prefer Cosmo to find a home with relevant experience. By adopting Cosmo, you will provide him with the nurturing and support necessary to navigate his formative years outside the shelter. He will require time, patience, and compassionate guidance as he adapts to new environments and explores the world. Sadly, the shelter is currently facing severe overcrowding, and Cosmo, like many others, is in urgent need of a forever home to avoid the risk of euthanasia.
