Home Dog Adoption Cole Nov 22

About Cole Nov 22

Cole is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 11/22/22 Cole had a dental with extractions. Cole needs a calm, quiet, and patient home to spend his forever. He has spent his 10 years of life being a breeder dog with little to no interaction with humans. Another confident dog in the home to help teach Cole how to be a dog is an absolute must. Once he starts getting more comfortable in his new home and family, taking him to training classes and walks in a calm park for socialization would be a great next step. A fenced in yard is required for Cole, as he needs a safe place to roam and exercise. What is his personality like? Cole is an 11-year-old male Standard Poodle who arrived at CPR in mid-November of 2022 as a breeder release. He loves making new friends and seeing new things. Cole enjoys hanging out with other calm and mellow dogs like himself, rather than lots of energy. Cole can be very calm, cool, and collected, but he can also be very happy-go-lucky and full of life. He walks decently on a leash, and is currently in the process of learning how to keep his area clean. He has made tremendous progress, with the help of lots of potty breaks throughout the day and positive reinforcement. His caregivers have put in lots of time with him, and he transforms into another dog when he is comfortable in his environment and has a trusting relationship or bond with his people. Cole has never had a ton of confidence, and he is perfectly content with that. Cole’s confidence blossoms with lots of consistency in a routine. While he may not be the fastest learner anymore, he is still extremely eager to please his people and will do anything for them. He is very food motivated, and has shown the most progress in training with food involved. Once Cole forms a bond with his people, he is very loyal and wants to go wherever they go. He enjoys being off leash so he can still do his own thing at times, so a fenced in yard would be best. He would do well as an only dog in the home for somebody looking for a companion, but he would also do well with another older, calm dog in the home. Cole tends to find a sense of guidance and direction from other dogs and likes to follow their lead. He is just happy to be able to love and be loved, and is searching for his forever home where he can nap, explore, and love his people. Cole is your stereotypical sweet little old man. He loves to pass the day by relaxing and enjoying the small things that life has to offer. He has started to come into his own here at the farm, and he is such a lover! He never knew what love was before arriving at the farm, but now that he has gotten a taste of it he can’t get enough. Cole is still a little shy, but warms up quickly once you start petting him. This sweet man is sure to melt your heart like butter. Come meet him today!
