BUCKWHEAT

About BUCKWHEAT

Dapper and adorable Buckwheat, was born in foster to a pregnant momma we picked up from a hoarding situation. Mom was very under-socialized, and flattened out like a pancake when approached, so we called her Flap Jackie and named all her pups (7 in all) after types of pancakes. This guys, is Buckwheat. Buckwheat was born on August 1st and has known nothing but love and excellent care since birth. It is our policy, to keep puppies in our care, until they are old enough to alter, at five to six months of age, to insure it is done. This also gives us the advantage of insuring they are fully vaccinated against, parvo, distemper and rabies and all worms are cleared. Of all the puppies born to Flap Jackie, Buckwheat got the biggest gift of snuggle. It is his super power. Just call his name and he will come running, no matter what he is doing, to join you on the couch or your favorite chair, to nestle in for a good snuggle session and his body is like a relaxing hot water bottle. In his foster home, Buckwheat is still in his puppy stage of life. He and several other young, unrelated pups of the same age, challenge their foster on a daily basis, with fun and games known as, puppy appropriate behavior but when singled out for some one on one time, Buckwheat proves to be a very intelligent, easy to teach and willing little guy. I.e. When he is with his little puppy buddies, they are all hoodlums. When he is one on one with his foster, he is an angel baby. Buckwheat and all his littermates, are super smart, super sensitive and intuitive, with the added benefit of being fun sized, too. We cannot be 100% sure of our breed guess, but one of the fosters, who intends to adopt her pup, did a DNA test that came back with some crazy results. 28% Chihuahua, (not surprising) and 22% American Pit Bull (there’s a twist) and the rest are all small breed dogs in small percentages, like Pomeranian, Pekingese, Poodle and the ever popular and prolific “SUPERMUTT” in at a predominant, 30%. So, there is a pretty good chance, whatever type breed is your favorite, Buckwheat has a little of that floating around in her veins. We do not expect this litter to get bigger than 20lbs at maturity and probably, much less plus they have short, easy care coats that require little more than a quick once over with a soft brush or even a cloth. Buckwheat is nearly housebroken (knows what he is supposed to do be sometimes forgets) crates when asked, is dog and cat friendly, has been around children four and up since he was born and is ready to be someone’s very best friend. He is super social being but can be a little intimidated by new situations, when first introduced, but is always quick to get with the program and get the party started. He would be an awesome candidate for puppy obedience classes as he is very treat and praise driven or play dates with friends, where he can keep strengthening his confidence and social skills.in play. While raised with a variety of dogs and siblings to play with, he would be fine as an only dog, if not left alone the greater part of the day. So, if you would like to meet this handsome dude with the degree in snuggling, please submit your application. Buckwheat is scheduled for neuter on January 13th and will be available soon after that. He is fully puppy vaccinated, fecal checked clear of worms, has had his rabies vaccine and will be micro-chipped during neuter. All you add is a bit of guidance and a whole lot of love.
