The human saw a pup, who in the relatively low light of the enclosure, gazed out with ebony eyes and an even darker fur coat. After an understandably watchful first trip to the bark park, … Black Ruby showed her enjoyment of the opportunity as she explored the expanse, which was filled with the yellow flowers of spring and the wild, wild world of sniffs. In the bright sunlight, her coat showed its true colors as it reflected a deep, red-tinted mahogany blush that inspired her descriptive Black Ruby identity. She had arrived at the Humane Society with 3 other canines who also hadn’t been given the best of human contact with a well-rounded upbringing. Black Ruby is somewhat cautious when she first meets you but with gentle and accepting kindness, she will give you a welcoming smile that shows her true inner spirit. Black Ruby interacted wonderfully while sharing the park with her friend Lotto where they played a friendly game of “I’ve got the squeaky… and you don’t.” Black Ruby is a petitely statured dog and even when full grown, she will weigh a respectably lithe, apartment sized 35 pounds.
