BEAR

About BEAR

Bear is a sweet, gentle 6-year-old Australian and Belgian Shepherd mix. She is a snuggler and a leaner and bonds beautifully with the people she loves. Bear lived with 2 other dogs for many years and they all recently lost their home. She has fortunately found a foster where she is healing her broken heart. She misses her friends but is comforted by her foster siblings. One of them is a blind poodle whom she loves to sleep near and touch noses with. Bear is fine with the 5 other dogs in her foster big and small. She hangs out peacefully with them but is more interested in hanging with her foster mom than anyone. Bear would do fine in a multi dog home or as an only dog. Bear would like a quiet and calm home. Her former home did not socialize any of the dogs properly and so Bear is timid about the big, busy world. She would love a home where her family could teach her about the world with patience. Bear does love her walks though. She dances when she sees the leash come out. She is lovely and easy on the leash and walking her is a mutual joy. Bear is non-reactive to other dogs and was fine walking by a playground of yelling, playing children. She also loves to play fetch. The rest of the time she is a quiet, mellow girl who just loves to hang out with her people. The only time foster mom hears her bark is when strangers come to the door. She learned to bark because all the other dogs do too. LOL!! Because this is the first human who has helped her feel safe she has been a little protective of her foster mom. We are working on training to help her understand she does not have to be the protector and that her person can do that fine. Bear would make a perfect family member for an older person looking for a gentle walking partner and a snuggle buddy. She has so much love to give. Bear is spayed, potty trained and UTD with shots.
