Balto

About Balto

Please read Balto’s bio in detail to ensure that he will be a good fit for you and your lifestyle before applying. PEASE NOTE: Balto is being fostered in Ottawa, Ontario. We at All Paws Matter believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. This is now a requirement in our adoption process. Proof of training classes for puppies specifically is required before adoption. Balto is a 3-year-old Mexi mix and weighs about 44 lbs. Adoption fee is $600.00. Balto has been neutered, is leash trained and house trained. He is good with dogs and kids (untested with cats so TBD). He is up to date on all vaccination, sterilized, micro-chipped and 4dx tested. He has seasonal allergies (Apoquel prescribed). Our dogs come with 4 weeks free pet insurance (after initial vet visit) “All he knows is what he’s not. If only he could see what he is.” Lines straight from the hit cartoon movie Balto, APM’s own lovable Balto needs a family to show him all that he is. Balto was recently surrendered back to APM through no fault of his own due to outside factors. Balto is a lovable three-year-old Mexi mix currently looking for his new forever home. Like his namesake, Balto is full of energy and loves running and playing with his special humans. He will even bring you his leash to tell you he wants to go! Great on walks and eager to play with his squeaky toys, Balto is looking for someone to snuggle up with on long winter nights and exchange belly rubs. With a sweet disposition, this well-behaved boy is house-trained and crate-trained. Balto also does well in the car. Happy as part of a pack, Balto previously lived in a home with a 6-year-old, so he is good with children. This pup also gets along with new humans. However, he is a little wary of meeting males but quickly warms up to them. Balto enjoys playing with other dogs but has not been tested with cats, and loves to chase the occasional squirrel or bunny in the yard. He has been known to jump a chain link fence, so wooden fences are a must. His ideal home is one with another dog for him to enjoy his time with, he would love someone to be at home part of the day but if he has a buddy that would work just fine, he just loves company. He likes to chill most of the day on his favourite chair and even though he is crate trained, he does like to snuggle with his foster mama in her bed on occasion. Balto is fiercely loyal and will sometimes bark when he hears other dogs barking or is alerted to an unknown sound. He just wants to protect his packmates! So, if you’re looking for a new lovable and playful pack member, Balto is your kinda dog! Just look into his beautiful amber eyes and it will melt your heart every time. Interested? Complete the adoption forms and we will happily get back to you. All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. They come to adopter with a harness, a collar and two leashes for safety. NOTE: The above description is relevant to this dog in its current and previous setting. Home changes and adopter personalities can bring out different behaviors not previously seen. We also do not claim or suggest that our dogs are hypo-allergenic or that they shed/do not shed. BREED DISCLAIMER: We are never sure of the breed of our dogs since they arrive off the streets or shelters. It is a guess only!
